Curvette includes Mike West, the brilliant rock scholar guitarist from Deep Throat (who I praised a couple of weeks ago). So I’m taking a second look at this long-running act.
A quick hop back over to Banter revealed that the local math-rocking trio Curvette had finally taken the stage, a full hour-and-a-half past when the program had claimed they would. But not only was Curvette's groove-intensive post-rock equal parts atmospheric and bombastic, they also easily offered the lyrical line of the night: "I've got a monkey on my back / my monkey is my back."
With an extremely nimble backing band, who run through various moments of agitated underground history with intimidating confidence. Anytime I hear the group, I silently thank them for washing away the intense mediocrity of whatever I was listening to previously from my memory.
Jean Lunacy – The Cougar Crisis Summer Waxxx Job: Local internet personality Jean Lunacy, despite being known mainly for some hilariously “Not Safe For Work” content to which I shall not link, is also quite the mix-tape producer. I have been continually playing this mix since it was made available, and it is decidedly more upbeat than the above picks by Blackburn. Included are dance icons such as Grace Jones, Synth-pioneer Snowy Red, and glam innovators Sparks. By the way, if you ever hear a band compare themselves to Sparks, don’t believe them. It’s rarely true and next to impossible to pull off successfully.
I will advise you on the creation, development, and strategic direction of musical content.
I will develop and implement marketing strategies, pursue brand endorsements suitable to the agreed-upon direction of the project, manage public relations, and work to maximize audience engagement.
My decades of experience will offer guidance to the talent regarding career development, contract negotiations, and building on-brand narratives.
I started in investments. Let me assist your project with strategies proven to ensure profit and sustainability. The outcome of your future projects is safe with me.
I will advise you on ways to enhance the entertainment experience. I go for the wow as well as the X factor.
